Rough : Almandine Garnets

Rough (uncut and unpolished) Almandine Garnet.
When cut and polished their color will range from deep red to reddish-purple.
These stone are 6.5 to 7.5 on the MOHS hardness scale.

Stone is about 3/4" in width and length and about 3/4" in thickness.  Weight average is about 32 grams.

Garnets are the January birthstone.
Some metaphysical sites say that these stones impart a passionate and peaceful energy.
