Corundum is the crystal form of Aluminum Oxide.
The trace element of Chromium gives Rubies their red color.
Rubies measure 9 on the MOHS scale of hardness.

The specimen boxes measure 1.25" wide x 1.25" deep x 1" tall.
Each specimen measures about 3/8" to 1/2".
Each specimen is significantly different from the next.

All rocks, crystals and gemstones have inherent defects. 
Any LARGE defects that we happen to notice, will be noted above.
