Chiastolite is a variety of Andalusite with a composition of AlSiO2.  
Its name is derived from the cross shaped inclusions of graphite; hence its name derived from the Greek work Chiastos.  
During the 16th century, these stones were distributed to pilgrims returning from Santiago de Campostela in Spain. 
Chiastolite is a protective stone providing psychic resistance.  
It provides strength and calms.   

All rocks, crystals and gemstones have inherent defects.
